Clavister AB, a leading provider of IP-based security and Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, today declared a new world record in network security throughput. Tests show that the new Clavister technology is able to achieve plaintext throughput beyond 500 Gbps and IPsec VPN throughput beyond 200 Gbps.
"We are very excited about this development," said John Vestberg, CTO at Clavister. "Breaking into this performance range is crucial for the next-generation multimedia networks, which has extreme demands."
This new technology will have a huge impact on the network security landscape and will enable service providers, telecommunication companies, data centers and large organization to reap the benefits of this huge performance gain.
Many of these organizations are faced with an ever increasing demand for more versatile and complex data traffic, including triple-play and HDTV. Network security components are increasingly becoming fundamental building blocks in any network configuration, and as such they cannot be a bottleneck. Clavister works in close collaboration with an increasing number of selected partners in the data center and telecommunication sector to ensure that the performance will enable them to continue to offer their customers the best-of-breed services and products, without being hampered by poor performance.
"With this extreme capacity gain, we are able to give organizations a whole new range of functionality, such as virtualization, distribution, carrier-grade resilience and scalability beyond anything ever seen before," said Peter Johansson, President & CEO at Clavister.
This new Clavister technology will be the future foundation for Clavister Security Service Platform (SSP™) and it is targeted for release in Q4/2008.
